Charlotte Hospital spang from very basic roots. The hospital was originally known as Magadini Dispensary which opened on April 7, 1977. The dispensary was created to provide care for the Maasai tribe who were walking over ten miles to receive care. This was a great hardship for women in labor. It also made most clinical visits difficult. The Holy Spirit Sisters welcomed His Honorable Alhaj Aboud Jumbe, the vice-president of the United Republice of Tanzania, in 1978 when he officially opened and dedicated the facility. It is located at Kilari Farm at Siha District in Moshi Town. In 2006, the dispensary was upgraded to the status of Charlotte Health Centre.
On June 22, 2021, it was raised to the status of Charlotte Hospital. It has a bed capacity of 106. On an average day, they can treat about 20 inpatients and 150 outpatients. The hospital is challenged to treat the very poor of the area and keep its doors open and bills paid.
